Must visit place once in Mysore
It was wonderful and serene when visited Mysore palace. In my opinion, everyone should must visit the palace for its rich history. Visited the palace during the Navratri days and also during the normal days.
After buying the entry ticket of the palace, the guide was an option to hire. Every time when we visit the historic place, we hire the guide. How much ever we read in advance or well read about history, having guide while taking tour adds the realistic touch as if we are re-living the history or that place all over. So, the guide at Mysore palace was also very knowledgeable.
The palace is very well maintained. It has Very Rich history. The central hall, paintings by Raja Ravi Verma and surroundings of the palace are all intricately maintained. If you visit the palace on Sundays or 9 days of Navratri, you get to the witness the delightful view of the illuminated palace in the night (attaching the pic to get the idea), that one should never miss. It's permanent memory one carry with oneself.
Don't miss the Horse Cart ride just outside of the palace.
