Beautiful  journey with destination as BeachCity, covering An heritage town on way.

A trip  from Bangalore for Pondicherry could also be fulfilled with an halt in Thiruvanamalai.

The town of Tiruvannamalai is one of the most revered ancient heritage and religious sites in India with numerous temples and Lingas devoted to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. The Tiruvannamalai temples embody the true essence of the splendid architecture of a bygone era.

Arunachaleswar is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva, located at the base of Arunachala hill in the town of Thiruvannamalai . It is significant to the Hindu sect of Shaivism as one of the temples associated with the five elements, the Pancha Bhoota Stalas, and specifically the element of fire, or Agni.Shiva is worshiped as Arunachalesvara or Annamalaiyar,as Agni lingam. His consort Parvati is depicted as Unnamalai Amman.

Once here don't miss to visit Ramanamaharshi ashram and sattanur dam.

Sri Ramana Ashram,  which was home to modern sage and Vedanta master Ramana Maharshi from 1922 until his death in 1950. It is situated at the foot of the Arunachala hill,  where thousands of seekers flocked to be in his presence.Maharshi's shrine continues to attract devotees from all over the world.

Sathanur Dam which forms the Sathanur reservoir, is one of the major dams in Tamil Nadu. It is constructed across the Thenpennai River also called as Pennaiyar River in Thandarampet taluk among Chennakesava Hills. The dam can be reached by road 30 km from Tiruvannamalai City.

Leaving such an humble town would definitely  would make one feel void.

But behold you are traveling to one of the beautiful beach town.

An ideal trip to pondicherry would definitely  need an awesome place to stay. And I would definitely recommend for RKN Beach resort, with an easy access to the beach. What more an kid in me ask for? Great ambience, good food.Kid friendly resort with its own private beach.

Aurobindo Ashram or the Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual group (ashram) situated in the union territory of Pondicherry. The ashram was a small community that expanded over some time as more and more disciples of Aurobindo Ghose gathered around to seek spirituality.

Aurobindo Ghose founded this ashram after he left his political career and aspired to inherit spiritualism in his life. A few followers of Aurobindo joined him in the ashram with the same aim of seeking spirituality. Located in eastern Pondicherry, Sri Aurobindo Ashram has become a hub of tourists who are inclined towards divinity and simplicity in their lifestyle

Named after Aurobindo Ghose, Auroville was founded by Mother in North Pondicherry. This township was founded to create a place where men and women from all over the world can live their lives in peace and harmony and neglecting the differences of race, creed, caste, and nationalities.

In the very center of Auroville, one can visit the Matrimandir, which is the prime spot for meditation and yoga. With the sound of water splashing on all the four sides of Matrimandir, one can sit here in peace and tranquility. Talk to the residents of Auroville who have arrived from different countries of the world and learn about the life of the people of Auroville.

Located next to the Aurobindo Ashram,is Manakula Vinayagar Temple is a very famous temple and pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple is one of the ancient temples of Pondicherry. The temple is close to the Aurobindo Ashram and the popular Promenade Beach.

The temple has a golden chariot in the temple which is engraved with some of the finest artworks. The chariot has around 7.5 kg of gold in it and it is taken out of the temple on the day of Vijayadashami for public viewing.

An Wholesome trip after all this coverage  would ask no more except returning with memories ro relish on.

See you soon in next post.
