Akkayamma Betta:- TREK up the Flat top for Sunset, Sunrise and Planes landing and takeoff

Akkayamma Betta [ Akkeyamma betta] , relatively SMALL hillock ,,is one place that is really WORTH visiting and a MUST for too many reasons. ..Too good Sunset and Sunrise points, being on a relatively flat hill with a large open space all around too, for scenic views...And of course, being on an elevated point and close proximity to the KempeGowda Bangalore International Airport, one can always get an unobstructed view of Planes' Landings and Takeoffs, every few minutes, and some waiting in the air for landing too.

As usual with most of the bettas, all around the climb and at top, there are so many OLD temples and small structures, temples of local village [ MadaNayakanaHalli / MaraNayakanaHalli] Gods and Goddesses. Some of them are of Bheemeshwara Swamy,, Muneeshwara,,Akkayamma and Rama Temples, apart from the Cave Temple known as GaviMaheshwareeAmma Devasthaanaa. New temples and choultry and a Kalyani has been constructed, apart from the new tarred road.

Daredevils are used to drive up to the near top of the betta, as one photograph shows that. There are many routes to go up. For devotees, a sheltered stepped path has been made , on the lines of SRS Betta near Ramanagara. One can go from a road opposite to the ChikkaJala Police station on the Yelahanka -Airport stretch of the Bangalore - Hyderabad national Highway. Another route is taking a right turn at VidyaNagar Cross bus stop..and driving past SVCE Engg College.... I have gone by walk from both sides, more often from ChikkaJala Police Station Side..and climbed all the way on the Bande route only [ on the Rock surfaces ].

Do carry your own water and snacks, always. And as a responsible Environment Caring person, please do not litter there , as many other irresponsible people have done it.
