A 'Linger'ing Short trip to Balur Coffee Estate, Chikmagaluru
It was Five of us Plus our 3 yr old kid. We just wanted to chill, on a weekday. It was my job to find a place. After a lot of research I choose this one. Balur Heritage Stay from linger.in. Though a bit expensive, we finalized on this one only. For me it was the experience that we were paying for, instead of the luxury. And I was right and completely satisfied.
Balur Estate is a place where u can 'Do Nothing'. It is one of the most relaxing stays one can come across. Just sit and glare at the clouds on a rain-soaked evening. Though that was not exactly what I could do, because of our naughty 3 yr old. But still , we have enough time to relax in the evening when we reached Balur Estate. Built in 1853, The house itself is a living history. They gave a booklet which had the history of who all were the owners of the estate and how it changed hands. With all wooden furniture it was a mix of luxury and heritage. And special thanks to the caretaker Rakesh who took care of all our needs, be it welcome drinks or snacks or meals. In all, it was an awesome stay.
