Veli Lake is a famous picnic spot in Trivandrum as it provides ample enjoyment activities for all members of the family, especially the children. One can enjoy the beauty of the lake and the sea at the same.
It is located at a distance of about 10 km from Trivandrum city. This is the place where Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea. The Veli lagoon provides for a unique boating opportunity. The clear water of the Veli Lagoon offers water sports activities.
Veli Tourist Village also has a children's park for kids, who can enjoy it there too. Children enjoy climbing over the huge sculptures, which dot the landscape. Boating is another main attraction in the Veli tourist village. Motor-driven safari boats, speed boats, and pedal boats or rowboats can be hired from the Tourist Village
There is a large garden on the banks of Veli lake. This garden provides stunning views of veli lake merging with the Arabian Sea. The gardens have been landscaped by Kanai Kunjiraman, one of the famous sculptors of Kerala.

Veli Tourist Village is a good place to enjoy with your family and friends. Boating is the primary attraction in the Veli tourist village. There are various types of boat rides offered here. Boats such as rowboats, speed boats, pedal boats and safari boats are available here. Boating is open from 10am to 5pm and there is a lunch-break in the afternoon.
The eastern side of the lake consists of two beautiful hillocks, good for hiking. Kayaking and hovercraft ride are also possible. It is a major attraction, surrounded by towering coconut trees, swaying palm leaves and exciting boating trips.
