Simla in Covid era

 July 2021 - Day 2

Kalka shatabdi dropped us to Kalka in 4 hours flat covering a distance of 300 kms.

Then we boarded the toy train from the other end of the same platform which took 5 hours to cover a distance of little under 100 kms and we finally landed in Simla by 5.30 pm.

From thereon we walked some distance to get to our hotel, Grand Hotel, the biggest hotel in Simla, Situated  right at the end of Mall Road, so no worries stay wise.

First day journey can be tiresome so we stayed in our rooms and had diner in the in- house restaurant and retired for the night.

Day 3

A walk on the Mall Road

A trip to Simla means leisurely walks on the Mall Road and ridge towards the band stand and the church made famous by Rani Mukherjee in the movie Black.

We are no different. After a rather late and lazy breakfast, we ambled towards scandal point, the starting point of Mall Road. No vehicles are permitted beyond this point except essential vehicles.

From here we walked towards Band Stand enjoying softy ice creams and fries.

Two - three hours were spent clicking pix and making videos for the folks back home and for fond memories. Then it was time for dinner.

Dinner was enjoyed at Sher-e-Punjab Dhaba and was completed with  Pizza and softies again.

After that it was time for some shut eye at our abode, hotel Grand.
