Me and my wife did a trip to Kundapura and Udupi from 4th to 6th Feb 2022. All we did before was some good research on Youtube regarding the routes and found several good hotels and shops through Google Maps, based on reviews. Reviews really help people a lot to pick up good places. I would always suggest to read the comments before stepping in any location.

Day 1: We started at 7.00 AM towards Hassan and stopped at 'Dhruvathare' hotel for breakfast. The highway was undergoing lots of repair, hence several diversions were ahead.

At this hotel, we get good amount of parking space, it has very good amenities for both men and women. Restaurant is very big and also Covid protocols followed.

After the breakfast, we reached Charmady Ghat after Hassan and Belur and later went straight to Kundapur through Belthangady, Brahmavar.

We reached 'Blue Waters' Resort at Kundapura at 5.00 PM after several rest and breaks throughout the journey.

Resort is luxurious and cost us around 4,000 INR a night as we opted for Backwater Suite, which has a balcony facing the 'Panchagangavali River'. This river joins the Arabian Sea after a kilometer or so.

Attaching the picture of the resort side River view. I am unable to upload videos here, hence, just attaching the available clicked images.

Day 2: We went to Malpe Beach, which was around 40 KMs from our resort, and took a boat ride to St. Mary's Island.

Malpe beach to St. Mary's Island and return cost us 400 Rs. per head from one boat service operator. There are different boat services, please check out others for fair price.

The boat took us to the Island at 11.30 AM and they told us that they would be back by 1.40 PM. Time we spent here just rolled on while we wandered around the Island, looking and enjoying the west side view of the Island, where we can see the Arabian sea stretching till the Sun could set and vanish.

After coming to the main land, for lunch, we went to a hotel called 'Mahalaxmi Malpe' which is nearby Malpe beach, and we had good sea food. This hotel is only for Sea Food Lovers. Tasty, hygienic and fair price. The food is served in Banana Leaf.

We came back to the room in the evening and went to Kodi Beach in Kundapur, the Sun Set view point is beside the river Panchagangavali joining the Arabian. This was like around 3 kms away.

The beach here in Kodi is clean and we spent time here till 7.00 PM.

Day 3:

We started our journey back through Agumbe ghat, which has so many hair pin bends (Not recommended for new drivers) and reached Belur.

Our journey ended with spending time at Belur Temple and reached back to Bangalore at 8.00 PM.
