Matheran is a small hill station in the Sahyadri range near Mumbai with lush of greenery during monsoon. There is a toy train service operated from Neral Junction to Matheran except rainy season. So the best way to visit there by foot from Dasturi station. It is a 30 minutes walk through the rain and along the railway track.
Matheran is one of the eco sensitive place where vehicles are not allowed. One can explore the place either by foot or horse ride.
