After all of mountains, forests, snow, beaches now it was time for the desert. And lucky as we are as Indians, we have all the sights in one nation.

Jaisalmer was without a doubt the best welcome I have ever gotten. Rajasthan is so proud about their culture, as soon we landed Jaisalmer, our hosts were waiting to recieve us with all the rituals, tilak, aarti, and sweets. It was really overwhelming.

Later we had authentic dinner, sitting on the ground (how the regional people have dinner).

Next morning we visited Jaisalmer fort, Gadisar lake and Vyas Chhatri. All were breath taking architecture with some real histories.

Later we headed to the desert, a 40kms drive from the city with windmills on the way, it was my dream drive.

We reached the camp by 4 in the evening. The tent was really comfortable with beds, linens, and even private washrooms.

Next was the jeep safari with lots of rock and rolls. It was hilarious and adventurous at the same time. I was thrilled. This whole episode was followed by an amazing sunset.

In the evening we had a cultural programme arranged by the facility we stayed with.

Late night we took a desert safari again and witnessed most beautiful sight. Millions of stars and my favourite song. This moment I realised Jaisalmer was the best decision. We spent the whole night in middle of the desert with bonfire and chai (tea). I saw about hundreds of shooting stars.

Next morning we saw the sun rising with camel riding experience. And on the way back we visited Kuldhara village.

We had our tickets reserved for night but we still had some time. Barkat bhaiya (our host) took us to their field where they have gram cultivation. We had bonfire dinner with long talks about their livelihoods and past experiences. On the way back on our last drive we didn't speak a word. It was like we wanted to soak in to every bit of this place.
