Popularly known as the "Paradise on Earth", Jammu and Kashmir is world famous for its scenic splendour, snow-capped mountains, plentiful wildlife, exquisite monuments, hospitable people and local handicrafts. I started my journey from Kanpur to Jammu and Kashmir. The state’s best destinations for  tourism such as Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam, best tourist spots such as Shalimar Bagh, Chasme Shahi and Pari Mahal, important lakes such as Dal lake, Wular lake, Manasbal lake - all lie within the Kashmir Valley.

Betaab valley has been an iconic place for Bollywood movies to shooting many romantic numbers. Betaab Valley has become a popular tourist attraction in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. The valley forms a pathway for the pilgrimage going for Amarnath Temple Yatra.

Gulmarg is a prime location to indulge in various winter sports including skiing, making it Asia's seventh top ski spot.

From December-end to mid-February, there is enough snowfall for you to create your own snowman! Make sure you pack heavy woollens as the temperature can drop down till -4 degree Celsius.

When in Srinagar, I got to experience the soothing Shikara Ride at Dal Lake. This hillside lake is home to the wonderfully carved wooden houseboats and colorful Shikaras (the small wooden carved boats) casually commuting through the scenic peaks of the Pir Panjal Mountains. It is spread across 22 square kilometers and its beauty kept growing. It was an experience of a lifetime for me as I got wooed by scenic vistas of the Zabarwan Range and the deepness of the calming Dal Lake.
