Day 2 - Kartarpur Sahib Corridor - Part 1
Started early morning from Amritsar towards Kartarpur Sahib Corridor which is around 40 kms from Amritsar. We took around an hr to reach the entrance of the corridor. All your necessary docs are checked at the entrance.
Then we went to the India Immigration Center. The immigration process takes place along with Polio drops. You can convert Indian currency to USD as it is required for entry fee which is 20 Dollars per person. Once done with immigrations a buggy took us to the Border and we walked across the Indo-Pak border where one more buggy took us to Pakistan Immigration. There is a counter here to exchange INR to Pakistani Rupiya which you would require for shopping around the gurudwara. Post Immigration process a bus took us to Kartapur Sahib Gurudwara. The Gurudwara is built on the historic site where the founder of Sikhism, Shri Guru Nanakji, settled and assembled the Sikh community after his missionary travel to Haridwar, Mecca-Medina, Lanka, Baghdad, Kashmir and Nepal and lived for 18 years until his death in 1539. It is one of the holiest sites in Sikhism, alongside the Golden Temple in Amritsar. We had Langar here. After which we did some shopping in shops around the Gurudwara. You get lot of stuff which are famous in Pakistan. Post that we started back to Humara Watan Hindustan.
Please note: You need to get ETA form approved by India Govt which the registration form has to be has filled atleast 20 days before your travel. You generally get the approval 3-4 days before your travel date. Only people with Approved ETA are allowed to pass through.
