Valley of Flowers, which is a trekking paradise who loves to explore lush green valleys and blooming flowers in peak monsoon time. Being in Devbhoomi , Uttarakhand this valley was famous due to Frank Smythe book as he came down here in 1931 while Mt Kamet expedition and lost their way on return. Accidentally they came down to this beautiful 88sq kms valley with lovely Himalayan flora and fauna blooming all over and got amazed. In 1934 he wrote a book on it , later Joan Margaret Legge came here to examine real beauty and some medicinal plant work but unfortunately she died in case while exploring the valley, some said no one has ever unable to find her trace. Her sister Merry came later and set up a grave in the loving memory of Joan Margaret Legge still found in the valley
From Haridwar, you can take bus or rented cab and reach to Govindghat (280kms approx).
From there by car head towards Poolna village and start the trek to Ghangaria(12kms) which is the base for this trek. Each day you will climb uphill to Valley (5 kms) and other day to Hemkunt Sahib (6 kms) , world's highest Gurudwara. Next day, back to Govindghat/ Joshimath.
Availability: You can get almost any kind of things in Ghangaria as there is a small marketplace here and along with it hotels and rooms are there. If you want you can hire small horses for carrying out your luggage or yourself to Hemkunt Sahib ji or down to Govindghat. Cost is as per the weight they carry.
From Joshimath cab is available to Govindghat and from there need to take a share cab to Poolna village differently as it was driven by the locales.
You can get food in Gurudwara of Govindghat, Ghangaria and Hemkunt Ji and it's feeling while accepting them will make you feel blessed.
In Hemkunt Ji , you can get down to the sacred holy lake to take a bath. It's water came from the glacier just opposite can be seen if it's clear round there. It's shrine nature definately make you calm and composed . Take the blessings, and come down to the base.

Best season to experience full bloom in the valley: Mid July - Mid August.
Best view : Mid June - Mid July and Mid August - Mid September
