Manchanabele is a small village located on the outskirts of Bangalore that is known for its picturesque dam and adjoining reservoir. Its around 40KM an Hour journey from Bangalore.

Dam is closed now and can not be accessed by the public, but you go and play in downstream and have spicy fish fry from near by small shops if you are interested. Before reaching the Dam you have a view point. After parking the car walk to climb a small hill and the reservoir can be seen from a distance. One can witness beautiful sunset if clouds permits 🙂.

While travelling from Bangalore google maps shows lots of option to reach Manchanabele Dam but take the route through BIDADI so that you can visit Nelligudde Tank Bund / Lake, a beautiful lake with magnificent view where you can spend time with your family and friends. From here its its around 15KM to Manchanabele Reservoir.

Both Manchanabele Dam & Nelligudde Kere/Lake can be visited early morning or evening.
