Himavad Gopalaswamy Hills
Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta is the highest peak in Bandipur National Park known for the Venu Gopalaswamy Temple and its lush green natural surroundings. The temple was built in the 14th century by the sage Agastya.

The hill stands at an altitude of 1,450 meters above sea level. For most of the year, the hill is covered in thick mist, hence it is called Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta ("Himavad" meaning "fog-covered" or "snowy"). The landscapes around are breathtaking.
Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta is located 220 km from Bengaluru and 80 km from Mysuru. Its plastic free zone.
Private vehicles are not allowed on the hill. Visitors must board a bus organized by the local administration from the base of the hill to reach the top. Jeep service is also available for group.
Visiting Hours : 8-30 am to 4 pm.
